Golda Benard, 86, of Vienna, IL, died Wednesday, June 24, 1998, at her home. Mrs. Benard was born February 23, 1912 in Pope County, IL., the daughter of Ezra and Hettie (Lauderdale)King. On July 15, 1933 she married Curtis Benard who preceded herin death on February 27, 1985. She was a retired owner of Benard Grocery in Glendale and a member of Glendale Methodist Church and O.E.S. Chapter 1007 in Eddyville. Surviving are two sons, Philip(Shirley) Benard of Collierville, TN andLarry (Kay) Benard of Goreville, IL; one sister-in-law; Edna Wiseman of Metropolis, IL; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Curtis Benard; her parents, Ezra and Hettie ( Lauderdale) King; two brothers, Loy King and Ray King; and two sisters, Fay Imhoff and Lucille Phillips. Services were held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 27.1998, at Glendale United Methodist Church with the Rev. Bill Christoff officiating. Burial was at Glendale cemetery.
