She was born March 23, 1929, in Martinsville to the late John Maston and Pearl Elizabeth Wood Self.
In addition to her parents, she was also predeceased by her 1st husband, Julian I. “Jack” Harris; her 2nd husband, Howard Junior Richardson; two daughters: Jackelin Harris and Ann Harris Warren; one son-in-law, Stephen Blanchette; one great-grandchild, Amanda Wilson; 9 sisters: Addie Chappell, Hilda Wells, Lucille Stadler, Gladys Harlow, Louise Self, Frances Warren, Helen Murphy, Elsie Joyce, Ruth Richardson; and 6 brothers: Aubrey Self, Claude Self, Thomas Self, John Self Jr., Irving Self, and Robert Self.
She was a graduate of Martinsville H.S. Class of 1947 and had worked at Martinsville Wholesale and Walmart as a clerk. She loved to play bingo.
She is survived by one daughter, R. Stuart Blanchette of Richmond, VA; one son and daughter-in-law, John and Terri Richardson of Collinsville; son-in-law, Ed Warren of Richmond VA; seven grandchildren: J. Clay Bowes Jr., Kelly Warren, Stephen “Red” Warren, Dustin Ginter, Benjamin Richardson, Casey Blanchette, Kyle Blanchette; and five great-grandchildren: Elizabeth Armstead, Kayla Bowes, J.C. Bowes, Jackson Warren, and Lily Warren.
Her funeral service will be Saturday, Jan. 26, 2019, in the Roselawn Chapel at 12:00 PM with Rev. Phillip Woods officiating. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service in the Chapel. Interment will be private in Hillsville, VA.
