Clyde H. Cole, 77, of Richlands and formerly of Jewell Ridge, Va., died Wednesday, Jan. 27, 1999, at his home following a lengthy illness.
Born in Bearwallow, Va., he was the son of the late Jim and Charlotte Keen Cole, both Buchanan County natives.
He was U.S. Army World War II veteran. He was a retired coal miner and a member of U.M.W.A. Local 2223, District 17, Amonate, Va.
He had lived in the Richlands/Jewell Ridge area all of his life and attended Claypool Hill Bible Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters and six brothers.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Pansy M. Elswick Cole; one daughter, Mrs. Allen (Brenda) Fulleman of Allen, N.J.; two sons, Lonnie Cole and wife Donna of Richlands and Danny Cole and wife Sharon of Tazewell, Va.; one sister, Mrs. Carmie Ward of Claypool Hill, Va.; nine grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, two step great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, Jan. 30, at 1 p.m. at Hurst-Scott Funeral Chapel in Richlands with the Rev. Carl Tegler officiating. Burial will follow at Greenhills Memory Gardens, Claypool Hill.
Pallbearers will be U.P. White, Tom Cole, Ed Cole, Rex Cole, Bob Cole and Larry Cole.
Honorary pallbearers will be L.C. Phipps, Jim Shaffer, Quay White and Dr. E.E. Moore.
