Neva Joreen “Mema” Miller, 88, passed away Sunday, February 3, 2019 in Bowie, Texas.
Funeral services are at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 6, 2019 at Southside Baptist Church in Bowie, with Pastor Tony Rogers officiating.
Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery in Bowie.
Family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, February 5, 2019 at the White Family Funeral Home in Bowie.
Arrangements entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home of Bowie.
Joreen was born June 16, 1930 in Belcherville, TX to R.L. “Bob” and Sylvia (Wilson) Reid. On July 30, 1950 she married Wayne Miller, and they spent 50 years together before his passing in 2000.
Joreen loved to watch her boys and later her grandchildren play all sports. She was a dedicated supporter and was named Booster of the Year in 1991 along with her husband Wayne.
She spent countless hours doing her cross stitch, which she loved to share. She made a personal stocking for all the grandkids to enjoy. For anyone who missed the chance to enjoy her talent in the kitchen, you missed the best.
Joreen loved and supported her church at Southside Baptist for over 60 years serving in many capacities from teacher to hospitality committee.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Wayne Miller, grandson Bobby Miller, brother Hershel Reid and sister Veda Ansley.
Joreen is survived by her sons Marvin Miller and wife Bobbie Nell of Bowie, Jerry Miller and wife Pam of Duncan, OK, Ronnie Miller and wife Rie of Bowie, Alan Miller and wife Tammie of Bowie, and Kenny Miller and wife Barbara of Bowie; 11 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
In leiu of flowers, should friends desire, memorials can be made in honor of Joreen to Southside Baptist Church at 311 W. Wilbarger St., Bowie, Texas 76230 or to the Bobby Miller Memorial Scholarship Fund, c/o Jacksboro National Bank at P.O. Box 271, Bowie, Texas 76230.
