Actress. She was best known to film viewers for her roles along side such stars as the Three Stooges, Judy Garland, Tony Curtis, and the Bowery Boys in the late 1940s and early 1950s. Born Nita Gale Bieber, she came from a family of performers and made her first public performance, at the age of five, doing a decorous fan dance in a long, pink dress. After high school, she first traveled as a dancer with the USO, and then joined the Jack Cole Dancers for a tour of the United States. She made her acting debut in 1946 in the film "Talk About a Lady". She went on to appear in various films during her short career such as "Rhythm and Weep" (1946), "The Jolson Story" (1946), "News Hounds" (1947), "Kilroy Was Here" (1947), "A Lady Without Passport" (1950), and "The Prince Who Was a Thief" (1951). During the early 1950s, she started a dancing group called the Nita Bieber Dancers and they not only performed in various Las Vegas hotels, but also on television with Dean Martin and Jerry Lewis on the "Colgate Comedy Hour". After appearing in the 1955 film "Kismet", she retired from show business.
