Marcelle J. Reece, 84, died May 30, 2007. She was born June 9, 1922 in Byars, Oklahoma to Inez and Edwin Bates Johnston. She lived in Byars, Pauls Valley and Norman before moving to Oklahoma City in 1981. She graduated from Byars High School and attended East Central College in Ada. Marcelle was active in real estate, opened Universal Insurance Agency in Moore in 1970 and then opened Marcelle's Collections, a retail store in Norman in 1976. She was a member of the Red Cross, her favorite Book Club and the Business & Professional Women's Association. Marcelle lived half of the time on Paradise Island in the Bahamas for thirty years and was a member of the Ocean Club. Marcelle was preceded in death by her parents and her brothers, Adolph Johnston and Coy Johnston. She is survived by her brother, Pat Johnston; son, Kenneth Reece and daughter, Donna R. Murray; granddaughters, Ashley Kunzman and Christian Murray; great-granddaughter, Carsen Reece Kunzman; and many nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 2, 2007 at 11:00 A.M. at Lakeside United Methodist Church in OKC. The family will honor Marcelle's wishes by interring part of her ashes with her parents at the family cemetery, Johnstonville Cemetery in Byars, OK and scattering part at sea in the Bahamas.
