Cora (Peggy) Gibson Nulton, of Beaumont, died Wednesday at Star Hill Rest
Home, BeaumontBorn in Benton, she was the daughter of the late Harry Boyd and Bertha Davis Gibson. She was a graduate of Benton schools and Wilkes-Barre General Hospital School of Nursing. She also attended Wilkes-Barre Business School.
She worked in General Hospital's operating room for many years.
On Jan. 1, 1923, she married Paul Nulton Sr., and moved to Beaumont to take over the operation of the Nulton Funeral Home. They operated the funeral home for 53 years until his death on Jan. 3, 1976.
She attended Northmoreland Baptist Church. She was a member of the Dallas Order of Eastern Star 396.
She was preceded in death by a son, Paul Nulton Jr., in 1989.
Surviving are a son, the Rev. Donald, pastor of the First Welsh Baptist Church, Wilkes-Barre; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be 11 a.m. Tuesday from the Nulton Funeral Home, Route 309, Beaumont, with the Rev. Truman Reeves, retired, and the Rev. James Howell, pastor of the Northmoreland Baptist Church, officiating.
Interment will be in Wardan Cemetery, Dallas.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday.
Eastern Star ceremonies will be 7 p.m. Monday.
