Helen Ann "Granny" Parker, 80, a longtime resident of Concrete, passed away on January 11, 2019 at United General Hospital in Sedro-Woolley.
Helen was born on January 1, 1939 in Mount Vernon, the daughter of Edward & Venna (Jensen) Pressentin. She was raised and attended school in Concrete, graduating from Concrete High School with the class of 1957.
In 1957 Helen was united in marriage to Bernard Allen and from that union her children, Brenda and Doug were born. Helen re-married in 1962 to Stanley Parker, her husband for 48 years until his death in 2010.
Helen worked in the local food industry since high school, opening her own business in 1980. She owned and operated the Village Pantry in Concrete for 15 years until her retirement.
Helen is survived by her daughter, Brenda Camby and son, Douglas Allen; her brother, Darrell Pressentin; grandchildren, Travis Peterson, Darci Peterson, Joshua Hughes, and Venna Fisher; great-grandchildren, Samantha Baird, Mathew Baird, James Brock, Catherine Peterson, Kallie Dull, Kyle Taylor and Kalvin Fisher; great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded by her parents, Ed & Venna; husbands, Stan Parker and Bud Allen; sister, Shirley Pressentin; granddaughter, Jalynn Taylor and niece, Julie Meeker.
A Graveside Inurnment service will be held on Saturday, February 9, 2019 at 1:00 PM at the Forest Park Cemetery in Concrete with Pastor Bruce Martin officiating.
A potluck fellowship will follow at the Concrete Assembly of God Church.
Arrangements are under the direction of Lemley Chapel, Sedro-Woolley.
