Stanley M. Parker, age 81, a lifelong Skagit Valley resident, passed away on August 5, 2010.
Stan was born on March 7, 1929, in Marblemount, to Matt and Elma (Davis) Parker, and attended schools in Marblemount, Concrete, and Clear Lake. He was raised in the Upper Skagit Valley, hunting, and creek and stream fishing.
He married Helen Pressentin in January of 1962, in Lyman.
He worked as a logger, as a tow truck driver for Merv's, and as an owner/ operator of The Village Pantry in Concrete with his wife Helen.
He enjoyed working on vehicles, cutting wood with his grandson Travis, and helping many in the community.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Helen; stepfather, Vern Bovier; daughters, Kathy and husband Gary Wilson, of Kirkland, Sharon and husband Milt Johnson, of Arlington, Brenda and husband Ron Canby, of Concrete; son, Doug and wife Ruth Allen, of Wassilla, Alaska; 7 grandchildren, Jonathan and wife Stephanie Wilson, Dustin Hicks, Chris Hollis, Travis and wife Tina Peterson, Darci Peterson, Josh Hughes, Venna Allen; 10 great-grandchildren; sister, Della Mae Parker; brother-in-law, Darrell and wife Debbie Pressentin; nieces and nephews, Matt Parker, Sherry Hornbeck, Scott Albertine and Judy Garner.
Stan was preceded in death by his parents; parents-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Pressentin; brother, Ronald; and sons, Todd and Rodney.
A graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM, Tuesday, August 10, 2010, at the Concrete Forest Park Cemetery, with Pastor Bruce Martin presiding, followed by a reception at the Concrete Assembly of God Church, 45734 Main St. A time of visitation will be available Monday, August 9, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, and Tuesday, from 9:00AM to 11:00 AM at Lemley Chapel, Sedro-Woolley.
