William A. Bambrough, 61, was released to be with the Lord Jesus on Oct. 25, 2007, at Wishard Hospital Burn Unit after a fire accident on Oct 19, 2007.

He was born Feb. 1, 1946, in Elwood, to William Bambrough and Izora M. (Moon) Harney.

Bill was a successful and charismatic Director of Operations at General Revenue Corporation of Indianapolis. He had been employed with the sub-division of Sallie Mae for more than 13 years. He was loved and held in the highest esteem by many of the 300 employees he managed. He made an impact and a difference in many of their lives and they will keep his memory in their heads. He also owned and operated Cameo Photography Studios of Elwood and Kokomo during the 1970s. Bill was a friend to all and showed compassion and generosity to those in need. He was an animal lover and adopted many stray cats. He relished sitting on his front porch and cleaning his motorcycles. He enjoyed long motorcycle rides to Brown County as he had an appreciation for nature. He was an athlete and class clown at Wendell Willkie High School, graduating in 1964. He began working odd jobs during high school to buy his own clothes and exhibited a tremendous work ethic throughout his entire life taking care of himself and the needs of others. His strong charismatic presence, wisdom, and contagious smile will be missed by his family, many friends and employees.

He is survived by two sisters, Carolyn (Cox) Swads of Lebanon and Alice (Bambrough) Matthews of Culver two daughters, Marsha (Bambrough) Waymire of Yorktown and Arm Mane Bambrough of Indianapolis; a son, Christopher William Bambrough of Elwood; a grandson, N. Taylor Johnson of Yorktown; a granddaughter, Christina Faith Bambrough of Elwood; and 22 loved nieces, nephews and their families.

A memorial service will take place at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Oct 31, 2007, at Dunnichay Funeral Home, with the Rev. Jesse Wolfe officiating. Friends may call from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be given to the United Way of Madison County or the Madison County Humane Society through the funeral home.
