Dixie B. Neal was born and reared in Petersburg, Indiana. Her parents were T.R and Bertha (Leighty) McClellan. She lived in Arizona for a short time before moving to Miami, Oklahoma and then in 1957 she moved to Muskogee. Dixie worked in the kitchen of the VA Hospital and several stores in town before starting her career at Prestolite in Wagoner, Oklahoma where she retired in 1987.

She was a member of Central Assembly of God for several years, then Lighthouse Assembly of God. She attended faithfully till her health failed.

Dixie was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Marvin; sisters, Kathleen and Delilah; her husband, Harley; sister-in-law, Sue Hopper; son-in-law, V.G Schoonover and aunt and uncle, Ivan and Flo Leighty Also many more aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews too numerous to list.

She is survived by her daughter, Sherrel Schoonover; grandchildren, V.G Schoonover II, Brenda Sellers, and Gene Schoonover; great-grandchildren, Stefan and Ramsey Sellers, Ciera and Declan Schoonover, Ben and V.G Schoonover III and great-great- grandchildren, Addie and Makalynne Sellers.

Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Thursday, January 17, 2019 at Foster-Petering Funeral Home.

Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.

She will be greatly missed.
