Jack passed away after battling different illnesses on Thursday morning at his home. He lived a long, happy life. His family meant everything to him. His body was tired and just gave out. He can now join the love of his life, Betty Jean, his wife of forty-five years.

He was born in Salt Lake City to Hugh Burnside and Arta Burleigh Burnside on April 23, 1936.

He is preceded in death by both parents; wife, Betty Jean Burnside, sixty-three; two daughters, Jackie Lynn, forty-nine; and Arta Jean, forty-five; and brother, Hugh Burnside. Jack is survived by one great-grandson, Bently Jack Sowby, three; three grandchildren, Whitney Sowby, thirty-one; Zachary Bryce Sowby, twenty-six; and Benjamin Franklin Burnside, twenty-five; and one son, Michael Sean Burnside, fifty-eight.

A visitation to pay your respects will be held on Friday, January 18, 2019 from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. at Larkin Mortuary, 260 East South Temple Street (00 South), Salt Lake City.
