Sarah C. Bollinger, 94, of Westminster, died Monday A.M., January 14, at home. She was the widow of H. Vernon Bollinger who died July 5, 1994. Born Oct 27, 1924 in Westminster, Sarah was the daughter of the late Paul & Gertie (Harner) Krumrine. She was a lifelong homemaker and an equal partner in gardening and farming with her late husband. Sarah was a member of St. Mary’s Lutheran Church, Silver Run. She was known as the fastest factory tomato peeler ever, enjoyed playing cards, an avid Oriole fan in her later years, enjoyed cooking for her family and best known for her green beans, apple dumplings and rhubarb pies.

Surviving are her sons, Dennis V. & Diane Bollinger, Paul S. & Judy Bollinger, all of Westminster; her 5 grandchildren: Barry & Michelle Bollinger, Brett & Tiffany Bollinger, Stephanie & Matt Cashman, Brandon Bollinger, all of Westminster and Melissa & Andrew Breighner of Hanover; 8 great grandchildren and her sister, Evelyn Dickensheets of Hanover. Sarah was predeceased by her son, Gary Bollinger; her 3 sisters: Mabel Fuhrman, Ruthetta Sponseller and Arlene Worley and her 5 brothers: Melvin, John, Claude, Paul and Nevin Krumrine.

Funeral Service is Friday, January 18 with the Rev. Allen Reed and the Rev. H. Lee Brumback, II officiating. Interment is in St. Bartholomew’s Cemetery, Hanover.
