Alexander Boyd, 86, died April 28, 1944, at 4:10 p. m. at the home of his son, R. W. Boyd, 407 South Central avenue, Canonsburg. He was ill three weeks but was in a critical condition only one week.
He was born in Ireland 86 years ago.
Mr. Boyd was employed as a stationary engineer with the Frick Coal Company.
He moved from Monessen to Canonsburg 20 years ago and had made his home here ever since. He was a member of the Mt. Washington Free Methodist church, Pittsburgh.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Vera Columbus, Monessen, and Mrs. Lena Gilmore, Warren, O. ; three sons, Charles C. Boyd, Coverdale; Wilson H. Boyd, Clarksville; and Ernest J. Boyd, of Thomas Station; 32 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held this afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Hinton & Griffith Funeral Home in charge of the Rev. O.E. Anderson, pastor of the Mr. Washington Free Methodist church, Pittsburgh. Music was furnished by membres of the church, of which Rev. Anderson is pastor. Interment was in Oak Spring cemetery with the following pallbearers: William and Robert Boyd, Eddie Blackburn, Frank Cummins, M.O. Wingard and Joseph Frederick.

Based on info in his marriage license application to Sarah C. Anthony, she was to be his third wife, with the first passing in 1894 and having been divorced from the second in February of 1901 in Westmoreland County.
