Online condolences may be shared at www.barnesfamilyfuneralhome.com. Dosha Evelyn Allen, 92 of Rogersville, died early Tuesday morning, Jan. 8, 2019, in Springfield Rehab and Health Care Center. Evelyn was born Jan. 4, 1927, in Chadwick, the daughter of Evert and Bessie Mae (Nash) Blakey. On July 9, 1942, she was united in marriage to Elmer Herman Allen and this union was blessed with three children. Evelyn enjoyed the rural life with Elmer and working on the farm. She was an incredible cook, well known for her fried chicken. Evelyn was also a dedicated wife and mother and enjoyed being a homemaker. Her green thumb was advantageous for growing her large gardens and canning her prized pickles and tomatoes. Evelyn was a member of Fellowship Lighthouse Church of Bruner and loved attending church and fellowship. Evelyn is survived by two sons, Clay Allen and wife Kim and Arnold Allen and wife Pamela; one daughter, Vanitta Campbell; brother Delbert Blakey and wife Leeann; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; and several other caring relatives. Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one brother; five sisters; and an infant brother.
