"James Barrett, one of the older of our Irish citizens, died at his residence at the foot of Franklin Street Sunday night at the age of 81 years. He was born in County Mayo, Ireland, where he married Mary Fergus in 1848 and came to Dansville in 1854. Mrs. Barrett survives her husband and there are three children; Mrs. Brogan and Miss Tilly Barrett of this village and James J. Barrett of Mt. Morris. Two sons died in the old country, and two sons, Thomas and William, and a daughter, Maggie, died in this place. The funeral was held from St. Patricks church yesterday morning."
