Born February 1, 1920, in Cleveland County, NC; son of the late James Abraham Blanton (1888–1952) and Dollie Jeffers Blanton (1887–1964).
Retired from Cleveland Mills, a member of Lawndale Missionary Methodist Church, and served in the US Army during WWII.
Survivors include his wife of 81 years, Mary Brackett Blanton (1922–2019); sons, Tommy Blanton, Jimmie Blanton (Brenda), and Ronnie Blanton (Angela); daughters, Linda B. Hartley (Mike) and Beth Blanton Bridges (1952–2022); and son-in-law, Terry Bridges; twelve grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation was from 12:00 Noon to 1:00 pm, Wednesday, December 19, 2018, at Lawndale Missionary Methodist Church Fellowship Building.
Funeral service followed at 1:00 PM at the church with Rev. Harry Queen officiating; burial in Rose Hill Memorial Park, Fallston, NC.
