Charles Frederick Roark
95, Avon, passed away Dec. 17, 2018. He was born to Eleanor and John Roark on May 15, 1923. He was preceded in death by brothers Lawrence, Louis and Harry and wives Helen and Patricia. Volunteering to the United States Navy after graduation from Brownsburg High School, he served his country during WWII in the South Pacific and Philippines as Chief Petty Officer for four years. After an honorable discharge from the service he met and married Helen L. Golay. He then founded and served as President and Chairman of the Board of C. F. Roark Welding & Engineering Co., Inc., for sixty-nine years working with the aerospace, energy and science industries.
After Helen’s death, he met and married Patricia J. Reed. Fred enjoyed his family and hobbies such as being an excellent golfer with memberships to The Country Club of Indianapolis (Life Achievement Award) for sixty-two years, Bay Hill Country Club (Florida) for forty-four years and Orange Tree Country Club (Florida) for ten years. He passionately enjoyed his experiences as an I.F.R pilot of a Duke Twin engine plane for fifty-five years. He was a member of the American Legion, VFW and the 40&8 Voiture 1390 and also a member of the Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rites and Murat Shrine. Fred was a nature lover and especially enjoyed feeding the birds. Fred is survived and blessed with daughters Constance (Tracy) Kemp, Chris (William) Roark-Jones, and son Charles T. (Lisa) Roark; twelve grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren. Fred was a benefactor to the Town of Brownsburg and the Brownsburg School Corporation (C. F. Roark Stadium). He was a member of Connection Pointe Church.Son of John Landis Roark and Eleanor Elizabeth Ruoff.
