The son of William Nudal Wildt and Catharina "Catharine" Schaefer, Charles married Sarah Elizabeth "Libby" DeWees on 19 Sep 1894 in Jersey County, Illinois.

They lived in Alton, Madison County, Illinois before moving briefly to St. Louis, Missouri by the turn of the century. They then returned to Alton. He worked as a stationary fireman for the Alton Water Company.

They were the parents of at least 4 children, but divorced in September of 1917. Libby died in 1918.

Charles was employed as an ironworker when he lived in Kansas City, Jackson County, Missouri later in life.

On 20 May 1937, Charles took his own life. He died of a shotgun wound to the head.

He was buried on 24 May 1937.

Children: 2 sons, 2 daughters.

Sarah Elizabeth Wildt and Charles Wildt, who were married in Grafton 10 years ago, lived together one day, according to a divorce petition filed in the Alton City Court by Mrs. Wildt. She says she has not heard from him since his sudden departure after the wedding.
