Wm. Behringer, of Taylor Avenue, was killed about eleven o'clock last Saturday evening near Lakeview avenue. He was coming home from Wells, Mich., to spend the holidays , and in his anxiety to reach home he jumped from the moving train and his neck was broken in the fall. The body was found about four o'clock Sunday morning between the main and side tracks in Finntown. From appearances his head struck in a pile of cinders with such force as to plough through them for several feet. The vertebrae in the back of the neck was broken and protruded from the flesh. He was 35 years old and leaves a widow and four children [should be five children]. His funeral took place Wednesday under the auspices of the Maccabees and the Sons of Herman.
