Our loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend passed away on the morning of November 29, 2018 at Utah Valley Hospital surrounded by her family.

Lee was born on September 1, 1931 in the mining town of Hiawatha, Utah to Shefton Gordon and Roxella Behunin Gordon. Lee attended Hiawatha School, graduating from Carbon High in Price, Utah.

Lee married Jim Garber in Hiawatha and together they had two daughters. They were later divorced. She was married to Sam Tallerico.

Lee earned her nursing degree from Westminster College and her RN degree from the University of Utah. After working as a registered nurse, Lee went back to school for her MA in Psychiatric Nursing. She worked as a social worker in Salt Lake County Public Schools and the Utah Division of Mental Health were she was appointed Chief of Children's Services for the State of Utah. Lee was instrumental in establishing mental health facilities primarily in the Four Corners region of Utah, and also in several other western states.

Lee was an avid traveler. She loved reading, enjoyed cooking, gardening, fishing and entertaining her friends and family. She loved to spend time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was known to them as their Ooma and was so proud of them and all their accomplishments. Her time with them made her last few years so special.

Lee is survived by her sister, Mary G. (Jim) Liddard, of Sandy, UT; her daughters and their families, Cherryl Ann Garber Underhill of Bozeman, MT, Dannalee Garber (Larry) Robinson of East Carbon, UT. Four grandchildren, Jessi (Mike) Adams of Sandy, UT, Buck (Jen) Mckay of Bozeman, MT, Tyler (Lynnae) Robinson of East Carbon, Utah, and James (Chelsey) Underhill of Bozeman, MT. Her great grandchildren, Bladen, Hazen, Luke, Devon, Tucker, Kali, Evie, Teegan, Laney, Corbyn, Shefton, Rowan and Harper; also many nieces and nephews.

Lee was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Carole Jean Miller; her husband, Sam Tallerico; her son-in-law, Greg Underhill.

Lee will be remembered for her quick wit, her amazing intellect, her ability to tell a great story and all her many accomplishments. She was a loving mother and grandmother who will be dearly missed.

Lee requested there be no formal service. A graveside service and celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Westminster Fund for Nursing. Arrangements entrusted to Mitchell Funeral Home of Price where friends are always welcome daily and may share memories online at www.mitchellfuneralhome.net.
