Elizabeth Hendricks was born in Kentucky in 1822 to Robert and Elizabeth Hendricks. She was married to Jeremiah Langloss in 1844 in Knox County, Illinois.

They moved to Marshall County Kansas shortly before 1870 from their Illinois home with five of their six children all born in Illinois: Nancy Jane, b 1850, George "Frank", b 1853, William T., b 1854, Robert J., b 1858 and Susan (Susie) b. 1861.

They lived their entire lives in Marshall County, first in Vermilion, then in Wells.

Later in life, Elizabeth became known as "Grandma Langloss."

Several of Elizabeth's siblings also came to area about the same time: Ann, Jane and Peter. Ann was married to Alexander Osborn; and Jane to James Osborn. Brother Peter Hendricks who was debilitated during his Civil War imprisonment lived with Jane and James Osborn until his death in 1890.

Although a tombstone has not been located and/or photographed, the newspaper article stating her death said she was buried here.
