Beatrice L. Nelson, of Lindstrom, MN, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 6, 2018, at the age of 90 years.

Beatrice was born to parents, Henning and Edith Carlson, on January 29th, 1928, in Cloquet, MN, as the youngest of five children. She graduated from Cloquet High School in 1946; and from St. Cloud State Teachers College in 1948.

She married Marvin Nelson, on June 16, 1951. Together they had two sons, David and Donald. Jointly they operated a 3rd generation farm for 40 years. She worked part-time as a substitute teacher, and later, for the United States Postal Service for 13 years, retiring in 1990.

Beatrice was very involved at the Chisago Lake Lutheran Church, serving as Sunday School Superintendent, Wedding Coordinator, Altar Guild, any many more committees. She also participated in several community activities and helped with delivering Meals-on-Wheels.

Beatrice was an enthusiastic sports fan, following the Minnesota Twins, Vikings, and Timberwolves; as well as the local Chisago Lakes Wildcats basketball teams. She enjoyed solving crossword puzzles, playing dominos with friends, and a triumphant scrabble game.

She loved to help people and often helped take care of others, driving them to doctor appointments, or whatever she could do to lend a hand. Bea enjoyed the company of her friends and having coffee and birthday celebrations.

Beatrice is survived by her sons, David (Joyce) Nelson and Donald (Rita) Nelson; four grandchildren, Candi, Erik, Brad and Doug; eight great-grandchildren, Derek, Nicole, Shaianne, Hazel, Louie, Sydney, Kylee and Lily; one great-great-grandchild, Addelyn.
