William "Bill" Hobiack was born in Old Forge, PA, on February 17, 1916 to Andrew and Anna [Wozniak] Hobiack, both emigrants of Ukraine. Bill is predeceased by his parents, brother Alek, and sisters Mary Harmon, Helen Huff and Rose Smith.In 1916 his father bought a farm and settled in Dushore, PA. Bill graduated from Dushore High School in June 1932, left the farm behind and hitch-hiked across the US working various jobs. In 1946 he settled in Detroit, MI, and was hired by Dun and Bradstreet. During his 31-year tenure with D&B they transferred him to California where he met and married Dorothy Hillard of Sierra Madre. After retirement he enjoyed wood-working, excelled as a handyman, and traveled around the world with Dorothy. Bill had a love for dancing, music, cooking, and telling jokes especially one-liners. He truly was a people person!Bill is survived by step-son's William and John Hillard, and several nieces and nephews including Carole Keith, Robert Huff, Sandra Smith, and Carole Harmon.
