Joseph H. Barnd, a former resident of Manchester, and well remembered by many of our people, died at his home in Chicago on December 21st, 1917, after an illness of a year's duration. Funeral services were held at the home in Chicago, and then the remains were brought to Manchester for burial. Mr. Barnd was born at Dyersville, February 22d, 1864. On July 4th, 1893, he was united in marriage with Emma Bishop, of Manchester. He is survived by the wife, and four brothers, Charles, Frank, Tony and Gus Barnd, and two sisters, Mrs. A. H. Cleveland, and Mrs. Anna Harps, of this city. One step-son, Edmund Bishop, also survives him.
The family has the sincere sympathy of friends in this great sorrow that has come to them.
