Mary Lou (Eisentrout) Robertson, 82, of Frederick, devoted and loving wife, mother, and grandmother, was called to her heavenly home Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2018.
Born Aug. 26, 1936, in Midland, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Bessie Eisentrout and wife of the late Allen Thomas Robertson, her husband of 56 years.
In addition to her husband, Mary Lou was predeceased by her loving daughter, Julie Ann Robertson Cashour, and siblings George Eisentrout, Evelyn Harris, Lois Jackson, and Leslie (Peck) Eisentrout.
Mary Lou was a graduate of Frostburg State Teachers College and taught elementary school in Frederick County from 1958-1963 and substituted for many years in various schools throughout the county. Later she was employed by PRI and SAIC for 11 years when she retired in 1998.
God had truly blessed her with the gift of music. She taught private piano lessons in her home for many years and served as organist, choir accompanist and alpha choir director at Brook Hill United Methodist Church while a member there. Later she became a member of and served as piano accompanist at Frederick Church of the Brethren.
Following her time there, she served as music director at Edgewood Church of God up until her recent retirement. She enjoyed playing the piano for family and friends' weddings and providing musical entertainment for the residents at Homewood in Frederick.
Mary Lou had a great passion for gardening. She also loved hosting many family events in her home through the years, making for happy and memorable times. She and her husband, Allen, enjoyed taking bus trips together. Her greatest joy was loving and caring for her beautiful and precious grandchildren who were the sunshine of her life.
She is survived by her son, Jeff and wife, Teresa; grandchildren, Rachel, Zachary and Rebecca Robertson, all of Frederick; brother, William Eisentrout and wife, Irene, Middletown; a number of nieces and nephews; and numerous dear friends.
Visitation will be held Sunday, Dec. 16, 2018, from 2 to 5 p.m. at Keeney and Basford, P.A., Funeral Home, 106 East Church St., Frederick.
Celebration of her life will be held Monday, Dec. 17, 2018, at 11 a.m. at Brook Hill United Methodist Church, 8946 Indian Springs Road, Frederick, with interment in Resthaven Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in honor of Mary Lou Robertson to support melanoma research as directed by Dr. Evan Lipson at Johns Hopkins Kimmel Cancer Center, P.O.
