Mr. Allen Thomas Robertson, 82, of Frederick, passed into the loving arms of his Lord and Savior Friday, April 10, 2015, at the Kline Hospice House. He was the cherished husband of Mary Lou Eisentrout Robertson. In June of this year they would have celebrated 56 years of marriage. Born on December 14, 1932, in Midland, MD, he was a son of the late Joseph and Elmira Ravenscroft Robertson.

Allen was a 1950 graduate of Beall High School and proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. He attended and graduated from Frostburg State Teacher's College in 1955 and in 1959 received his degree in secondary education. Allen started his career in 1959 with Frederick County Public Schools, teaching Social Studies in Emmitsburg, Libertytown, Linganore and Middletown schools. He served as the president of the Frederick County Teachers Association in 1974-1975 and retired in 1987.

He was an avid fisherman, a passionate gardener and a well-rounded handyman, painting and wall papering many homes in and around Frederick County. He was a friend to many, always offering up a quick smile, a joke, a story, or a piece of chocolate. He had a great love for his family, and delighted especially in the lives of his grandchildren. Allen enjoyed traveling to sporting events, celebrating holidays and sharing the many pictures he took along the way. For more than 40 years, Allen enjoyed camping and throwing horseshoes with family and friends along the Potomac River and passed this love down to his son and his friends.

Allen was an active member of the Edgewood Church of God, and also was a member of the Francis Scott Key American Legion Post # 11.

In addition to his beloved wife, Allen is survived by his son, Jeffrey

A. Robertson and wife Teresa, of Frederick, three adoring grandchildren, Rachel Elizabeth, Zachary Andrew and Rebecca Kathryn Robertson, and many nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

He was preceded in death by his beloved daughter, Julie Ann Robertson Cashour, two sisters, Helen Harvey, Edna Wegman and brother, Joseph Gorman Robertson.

The family will receive friends from 4 to 7 p.m., on Wednesday, April 15, 2015, at the Keeney and Basford Funeral Home, 106 East Church Street, Frederick. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., on Thursday, April 16, 2015, at the Edgewood Church of God, 8204 Edgewood Church Road, Frederick.
