Mrs. Thomas was born July 2, 1919 in Madison County. Mary was a member of Brigman Chapel Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Virginia Norton Tweed; husband, Wyman Thomas; daughter, Willa Ann Thomas; sons, Joe Burbon Thomas and Arnold Douglas Thomas; great-grandson, Holden Lee Thomas; daughter-in-law, Linda Thomas.
Surviving are her daughter, Ethel Emerson; son, Houston Lee Thomas; grandchildren, Tonya Lohnes (Chris), Stephanie Jenkins, Jackie Aiken, Houston Lee Thomas, II (Tracy), Kendall, Adam and Andy Barham; great-grandchildren, Scott Thomas (Donna), Brandon and Brock Lohnes, Amber Shay Rice and Bo Jenkins; great-great-grandchildren, Savannah and Holden Thomas; a sister, Pearl Gentry.
Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 8, 2014 at Brigman Chapel Church with Reverends Ray Shelton and Eddie Chandler officiating. Burial will follow in the Thomas Cemetery.
