Joseph Sabo of Coatesville
Joseph Sabo, 98, of Coatesville, died Friday, May 4, 2007, at Brandywine Hospital.He was the widower of Julia M. Moc Sabo, who died in 1996 after 30 years of marriage.

Born Sept. 7, 1908, in Nyirmihajdi, Hungary, he was the son of the late Alex Szabo and Amelia Csuka Szabo.

A longtime resident of Coatesville, he migrated from Hungary with his sister, the late Margaret Barnes, through Ellis Island.

Initially, he was employed by Philadelphia Electric after attending an electrical school in Chicago. After employment by Lukens Steel Co., he remained there until his retirement as an electrical area foreman.

He is survived by his children, daughter, Barbara Newkirk of Coatesville; twin sons, Dr. William Sabo of New Holland and Dr. Joseph A. Sabo of Santa Fe, N.M.; two sisters, Elizabeth Szabo of Nyirobogad, Hungary, and Julia Szabo of Budapest, Hungary; and a granddaughter.

A graveside service was held Friday, May 11, at Fairview Cemetery, Coatesville.

Arrangements by Maclean-Chamberlain Funeral Home, Wagontown.

Memorial contributions may be made to Upper Octorara Presbyterian Church, 1121 Octorara Trail, Parkesburg, P.A. 19365.
