RANDOLPH - Elnora Manning, 92, of Randolph, died Thursday morning, April 5, 2007, at Mayo Health Care in Northfield, Vermont.
She was born Oct. 10, 1914, in Weathersfield-Bow, the daughter of John Barrett and Ida LeBonte. She was married to Chester Roscoe Manning in Rochester in 1933. They moved to Randolph from Reading in 1943. She had worked for Randall Wood Products in Northfield Falls, VanRaalte in Randolph, and retired as bookkeeper for P&C Grocery in Randolph. Her husband passed away in 1976. She was an avid flower and vegetable gardener, and loved family gatherings. She was a member of the Rebekah's, and attended the United Church of Randolph.
Survivors include her six sons, Dwain Manning of Barnard, Chester S. Manning of Lakeland, Fla., John B. "Jack" Manning of Bethel, Jerry Manning of York, Maine, Fletcher Manning of Castleton and Wade Manning of Randolph; three daughters, Sarah Lane of Hartwell, Ga., Theda Roecker of Syracuse, Neb., and Dawn Hutchinson of Willis, Va.; sister, Effie Currier of White River Junction; 23 grandchildren; and 28 great-grandchildren. Siblings who predeceased her include her brother, Hoyt Barrett, and her sisters, Eleanor Stocker and Alice.
Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, May 25, at Pleasant View Cemetery in Randolph. Calling hours are from 6-8 p.m. Monday, April 9, at the Day Funeral Home.
