Jean A. Smith, 87, passed from this life to be with the Lord Jesus Christ Wednesday, August 1, 2012 at the Concordia Care Center in Bella Vista, AR. Jean was born in Muskogee, Oklahoma, on November 22, 1924 to C.A. and Carrie Ambrister.
Jean and Jerry were married on April 20, 1944 and they celebrated their 68th wedding anniversary earlier this year. Jean surrendered her heart and life to the Lord Jesus Christ in 1949 and she and her husband raised their family in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters and a granddaughter, Cassie Smith. Jean was a loving and faithful wife to her husband and a wonderful mother to her children. She was a member of Bella Vista Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband, Jerry C. Smith, five children, twelve grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Her children are Mrs. Leslie Neel of Smithfield, Virginia; Mrs. Janet Eaton of Ruiodoso, New Mexico; Mr. Jerry A Smith of Columbus, Ohio; Rev. Daniel W. Smith of Eugene, Oregon; and Dr. Roger C. Smith of St. Augustine, Florida.
A Memorial Service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, August 4, 2012 at the Bella Vista Baptist Church. There will be no graveside service. Arrangements are by the Bella Vista Funeral Home & Crematory, 2258 Forest Hills Blvd., Bella Vista, Arkansas.
