Frances Marjorie Bennett Shelden was born December 27, 1922 in St. Louis Missouri to Florence Courson Bennett and Charles Bennett.

Frances moved to Arlington, Missouri at age 5 and spent the rest of her life there, in Newburg and in Devils Elbow, Missouri.

She graduated from Waynesville High school.

She married Virgil (Mike) Shelden in 1941 and to them 5 children were born.

She was preceded in death by both parents, by step parents Joe and Ethel Williams, her husband Mike Shelden, 2 sons Virgil Dwayne and Ronald Joe Shelden, 3 sisters Joann Williams, Jane King and Ruth Wilson, 2 brothers Robert Bennett and Bill Williams, 12 brother in laws and 13 sister in laws.

She is survived by 3 daughters: Judy Hollcraft and husband John of Ocala, Florida, Linda Kerby of Hernando, Florida and Beverly Posey of Ozark, Missouri; 15 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren, and a host of loving nieces and nephews

Frances was the epitome of the homemaker and did not work outside the home. She was of major influence in multiple children's lives, babysitting many children in Newburg and was frequently left guessing how many boys she would be fixing breakfast for, that came down the stairs when she called out it was ready, as all the boys in town knew they could always get a good home cooked meal at her home.

Funeral services will be held at the Church of God in Newburg, Mo at 10 AM on Friday, with visitation on Thursday evening from 6-8 PM, with burial at the Hooker Cemetery in Devils Elbow, Mo, followed by a celebration luncheon at the St. Robert Community Center. All arrangements were made under the direction of the Teague and Sons Funeral Home.
