ERNESTINE "PIDGE" AKT January 23,1936 - November 15, 2018 Pond Eddy, NY
Ernestine passed away peacefully November 15, 2018 at the Kaplan House Hospice, Newburgh, NY. The daughter of the late Earnest Lovelace and Imogene Conklin Lovelace Hulse, Pidge was born at home in Godeffroy, NY. She is survived by her late husband of 40 years, Walter G. Akt. She is also survived by her seven sons: Michael Smith of Sleepy Hollow, NY, Joseph Smith and his wife, Susan of Glen Spey NY, Howard Smith of Pond Eddy, NY, Anthony Smith and his wife, Jill of Erie, PA; three daughters: Lynn Smith of Winchester, VA, Phyllis Deninger and her husband, Peter of Sarasota, FL, Valerie Harris and her husband, Dusty of Barryville, NY. She is further survived by brothers: Wally Akt III and his wife, Adriana of Groton, MA, James Akt and his wife, Caroline of Glen Spey, NY, John Travis and his wife, Noel of Whitman, MA and Walter G Akt's daughter, Carolann; her sisters: Laraine Regina and her husband, Sal of Woodbourne, NY, Naomi Thorpe of Forestburg, NY, Katrina Woloszynowski and her husband, John. Ernestine had numerous grandchildren, and great-grandcildren, as well as many nieces and nephews. It was said in a family statement: "Her kitchen was always open to family and friends." Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m., Monday, November 26 at Rural Valley Cemetery, Cuddebackville, NY; Captain Kelly Ross will officiate. Memorial contributions can be made to the Salvation Army Corp Community Center, 99 Ball Street, Port Jervis, NY 12771. Arrangements are by the Knight-Auchmoody Funeral Home, 154 E.
