August 24, 1938 - November 11, 2018

Helen Sue McGough Sorrell, 80, of Broken Bow, passed away surrounded by her loving family November 11, 2018 at Memorial Heights Nursing Home in Idabel, OK.

Sue was born August 24, 1938 in Goodwater, OK, to Homer Sidney and Birdie Adeline (Prater) McGough.

Sue was affiliated with the Assembly of God Church in Broken Bow and had lived in McCurtain County most of her life. She enjoyed gardening, traveling, watching birds, her flowers, and being with her grandchildren.

Sue and Robert Edward Sorrell, Sr were united in marriage April 10, 1958 in Gainesville, TX. They enjoyed a wonderful 54 years together until his passing in 2012. You never saw one without the other.

Sue was preceded in death by her loving husband, Robert; parents, Homer and Birdie; son, Robert Edward Sorrell, Jr; grandson, Montana Williams; brothers, Jim and wife, Marie McGough, Marshall and wife, Avis McGough; and sister, Marie and husband, Theodore Kemp.

Sue leaves to cherish her memory, her son, Brady Sorrell and wife, Margaret, of Broken Bow; daughters, Susie Harbour and husband, Paul, of Broken Bow, and Beth Williams, of Broken Bow;

Grandchildren, Sterling Harbour and Auvnah, of Broken Bow, Misti Hoffman and Mike, of Edmond, Nevada Williams and Alisha, of Sutton, AK, Dakota Williams, of Sutton, AK, Loredo Williams and Leann Tillman, of Del City, OK, Meagan Lowimore, of Dallas, TX, Haley Sorrell and Josh Woody, of Little Elm, TX, Colton Sorrell, of Little Elm, TX, Taryn Huckabee, of Oklahoma City, Randy Cannon, of Oklahoma City, Crandell Talley and Jayci, of Broken Bow, and T’Anna Talley and Kolton Blackmon, of Broken Bow;

Uncle, Flemon Prater, of Broken Bow; and many great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; special life-long friend, Patsy McGowen, of Broken Bow; and other relatives and many friends.

A Celebration of Life Service will be Thursday, November 15, 2018, at 2:00PM, at the Brumley Funeral Home Chapel, Broken Bow. Burial will follow at the Broken Bow Cemetery.

Visitation will be Wednesday, November 14, 2018, from 6-8PM, at the Brumley Funeral Home Chapel, Broken Bow.
