Mrs. Warner Jones, 79 – Survived by 63 descendants, Littie Mae Byrum Jones of Guntersville formerly of Claysville, died Thursday in the Guntersville-Arab Hospital. She was 79. The funeral will be Saturday at 11:00 at Carr's Chapel in the Pines. Burial will be in the Panquin Cemetery at the top of Grant Mountain. It's above Honeycomb where Mrs. Jones grew up. She had heart trouble the last year and a half but her final illness lasted only 2 days. Her daughter, Flossie Townson was with her. Her home on Wyeth drive is near her mother's on the Wyeth Mountain Road. Mrs. Jones lived alone and continued active in spite of her heart problems. She liked to work in her flower beds and vegetable garden and to quilt and piece quilt tops. Her husband, Warner Jones died in 1982. They had moved to the foot of Wyeth Mountain 8 years before that. They had lived at Claysville a long time. She was a member of the Free Holiness Church. Her parents were Willis and Maggie Elliott Byrum. She is survived by 4 sons, Vernon Jones of Blountsville, Clyde Jones of Sweet Home near Union Grove, James Jones of the Y and Bobby Jones of Huntsville; 4 daughters, Pauline Burnett of Sweet Home, Flossie Townson of Guntersville, Vadine Weaver of Jordan City on Sand Mountain and Enell Kelley of Guntersville; 30 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren ; 2 brothers, Lonzie Byrum of Huntsville and Dee Henry Byrum of Big Spring Valley and 2 sisters, Vadie Black of Trenton, Georgia and Pearlie Jones of Guntersville. Bro. Eli Smith and Bro. Jack Denson will conduct the funeral. The pallbearers will be Jimmy Townson, Bobby Kelley, James Beard, Jude Reynolds, Lee Jones, Neal Jones, Shirley Byrum and David Jones.
