Born April 5, 1941, in St. Albans, she was a daughter of the late James William and Freeda Mae Lemaster Harris. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Carl R. Bibbee, and her sister, Karen Harris Thompson.
Barbara was a member of St. Peter's United Methodist Church, St. Albans, where she was active with the United Methodist Women. She had served in the past as president of the Charleston Jaycee-ettes and was formerly employed by McClung-Morgan Department Store, St. Albans, and BB&T, Charleston. She retired from Hallmark, St. Albans.
Surviving are her children, Dawn Bibbee Douglas (Bill) of Tappahannock, VA, James W. Bibbee (Chie) of Rocklin, CA, C. Richard Bibbee II (Crystal) of Marksville, LA; grandchildren, Emily and Jonathan Douglas, Nicholas, Haley, Jessica, Joshua, Jiana and Isabelle Bibbee; great-grandson, Maddox Munoz; sister, Sandra Harris Jacobs of St. Albans; brother-in-law, Marion Bibbee of Lees Summit, MO; sister-in-law, Martha Ann Gaylor of Toledo, OH.
Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, August 27, at St. Peter's United Methodist Church, 2601 Forrestal Avenue, St. Albans, with Pastor Paul Mateer officiating. Entombment will follow in Cunningham Memorial Park, St. Albans. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Bartlett-Chapman Funeral Home, St. Albans.
