URBANA, Ill. -- Friends of Emma Rohrer may call from 11:30 a.m. until the 2 p.m. Monday funeral service at Hartzler-Gutermuth-Inman Funeral Home, 403 W. Franklin St., Elkhart, Ind. The Rev. Floran Mast will officiate. Entombment will be in the Chapel of Peace Mausoleum at Rice Cemetery. Mrs. Rohrer, 95, formerly of Elkhart, Ind., died Tuesday (Oct. 17, 2006) in Clark-Lindsey Village. She was born March 28, 1911, in Elkhart County, Ind., to Oscar and Lucretia (Pletcher) Stealy. She married Seth A. Rohrer on June 21, 1930. He died Nov. 13, 2005. She is survived by one daughter, Karen (Ron) Cook of Fisher, Ill.; one son, Dallas (Mary Anne) Rohrer of Atlanta, Ga.; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by four sisters and four brothers. Mrs. Rohrer was formerly employed at Adams & Westlake. She was a longtime Sunday school teacher and song leader. Mrs. Rohrer was a member of the ladies auxiliary of the National Association of Evangelicals, Gideons International, Hubbard Hill Retirement Center and the Missionary Church. She entertained extensively and was a hostess to people from all over the world. Since 1972, she had been afflicted with sarcoidosis, which caused her to lose her eyesight.
