Julie Hinson Castengera Adkins, after a short stay in the Hospice unit of St. Vincent's Hospital, passed away June 4, 2017. Julie was born June 28, 1960 in Brunswick, GA. She is survived by significant other, Keith Sorrells, sons, Robert Neil and Andrew Lee Castengera, grandson, Robert Neil Castengera, III, granddaughter, Kimber Jenell Castengera, parents, Jess and Elaine Hinson, brother, Lee (Sarah), nephews, Finnley and Asher Hinson, sister, Jennifer Rowland (Kieth), niece Stephanie Thomas (Scott) and great nephew, Henry Andrews. Julie was a 78 graduate of Fletcher High School, Jax Beach, FL. She started a career in the banking business right after graduation. Her employers included Florida National Bank, Duval Federal, Bank of America and most recently, Union Bank. During her tenure she managed to raise two sons, enroll in college and earn a degree in Computer Science. There was a brief interval where she opened a riding stable at Spirit of the Suwannee Camp Ground, Live Oak, FL. JK Stables was a life long dream and many new equine friends were made as a result. Julie could never be accused of being shy. Her assertive attitude became her calling card. She quickly adapted to her work environment and became the team leader in the technical application division. With a team of experts, they initiated several innovative programs that are currently applied throughout the banking industry. Although her affiliation with Union Bank was a relatively short one due to her illness (pancreatic cancer), she earned the respect of her peers. Memorial contributions may be made to Community Hospice of N. Florida. A celebration of life will be on Sunday, June 11, 2-6pm at 7166 Ramona Blvd., The Ramona Pavilion.
