Jane (Dunkle) Kurtz, 99, Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, and loving and devoted wife of Arthur J. Kurtz, passed away Thursday, October 25, 2018 at Masonic Village, Elizabethtown. Born March 5, 1919 in Harrisburg, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Katharine (Birch) Dunkle and was also preceded in death by her husband of 76 years, Arthur James Kurtz; her daughter, Nancy J. Harris; brothers, Robert P., Tucker V., and Lee C. Dunkle; sister, Betty L. Huntzinger; grandson, Richard A. Kurtz, Jr.; and her sisters-in-law, Fern L. Weiss and Ann Morrison.

Surviving is her son: Richard Allen Kurtz, Sun City, CA; 4 grandsons: Todd M. Kurtz, Sun City, Jeffrey S. Kurtz (Annette), San Diego, Scott D. Harris (Gina), Richardson, TX, and Steven R. Harris, Palmyra; 9 great grandchildren: Matthew T. Kurtz, Sun City; Jason Ronald, Michael Frank and Devon Steven Harris, Palmyra; Jeremy Arthur, Justin Charles and Jordan Marie Harris, Richardson, TX; and Malaika Bethany and Mirembe Emily Kurtz, San Diego.

Jane graduated from Susquehanna Township High School in 1937. She was a past superintendent of the Primary Department at Epworth Methodist Church, Harrisburg for over 10 years and was a former volunteer worker at Polyclinic Hospital.

Jane was a Brownie Troop Leader for many years and was active on the Parent Teacher Associations of her children's local schools. She enjoyed swimming, reading, crafts, bowling, gardening, softball, football, and followed professional sports. She and her late husband were both members of John S. Sell Chapel at Masonic Village, Elizabethtown. Jane was a woman of great thoughtfulness, personal integrity, and humor. She loved and cared deeply for her husband and family. She was well thought of by her friends in Elizabethtown, her family, and by nearly everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.

She will be interred at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery beside her husband at 10:00 AM, Monday, November 5, 2018. A visitation at 12:30 pm and memorial service at 1:00 pm will follow at Sell Chapel at Masonic Village, Elizabethtown.
