Arlie served in the US Army during the Korean War. He was employed by the Guilford County Sheriff’s Office prior to transferring to the Guilford County Prison Farm until he retired.
He was a member of Apple’s Chapel Christian Church and attended Whitsett Baptist Church. He was a loving husband, father, paw-paw and great paw-paw and brother.
He is survived by his sons, Randy (Edith) Apple, Bill Todd (Darlene) Apple; grandchildren, Zac (Brittany) Apple, Katlyn Apple; great granddaughter Skylar Apple and a sister Bettie Greene. He was preceded in death by his wife, parents; siblings: sisters, Louise Loye, Hattie Brown, and Irene Murray, and a brother Frank Apple.
The family received friends at Lowe Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., prior to a funeral officiated by the Reverend Tim Stevens. Interment followed in the Apple’s Chapel Christian Church Cemetery.
