Frank J. Apple
GRAHAM ? Mr. Frank J. Apple, 85, of 2533 N.C. 87 South, Graham, died at Liberty Commons Nursing and Rehabilitation Center on Tuesday, June 26, 2007 at 4:47 a.m.
A native of Guilford County, he was the husband of Annie Lucille Bailey Apple, who survives, and the son of Dewey Toy Apple and Ruth Lowe Apple, both deceased. He was a retired superintendent for Van Thomas Construction. He was a member of Mt. Hermon United Methodist Church, where he was treasurer for many years of the Mt. Hermon Methodist Men, a former Sunday school teacher, a former member of the Administrative Board, Lay Person of the Year, and Father of the Year.
In addition to his wife, survivors include two daughters, Ms. Annie Ruth Apple Bridges of Graham and Mrs. Deborah Joyce Apple Acree and husband, Matt, of Bluff City, Tenn.; three sisters, Mrs. Hattie Brown of Browns Summit, Mrs. Irene Murray and husband, Dee, of Gibsonville, and Mrs. Bettie Greene and husband, Sandy, of Liberty; one brother, Mr. Arlie Apple and wife, Sue, of Gibsonville; and two grandchildren, Miss Janice Ann Bridges and Mrs. Joyce Acree Hobson and husband, Jeremy.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Mrs. Louise Loye.
The funeral will be conducted at Mt. Hermon United Methodist Church on Friday, June 29, 2007 at 11 a.m. by the Rev. Rob Shelton, and the Rev. Allen Myers. Burial will follow in Mt. Hermon United Methodist Church cemetery. The body will be placed in the church 30 minutes prior to the service.
The family will receive friends at the Rich & Thompson Funeral Home in Graham from 6 until 8 this evening, June 28, 2007.
The Men?s Bible Class and the United Methodist Men and their wives have been asked to be honorary pallbearers20 Nov. 1943
