Maxie Sirmans, 82, of Pearson died Friday evening (October 19, 2018) at his residence after an extended illness. Mr. Sirmans was born in Atkinson County to the late Clemon F. and Myrtice Vinning Sirmans and spent most of his life in Pearson. He enjoyed country, western and gospel music. He was a small farm operator and in the roofing business. Mr. Sirmans was a member of Antioch Missionary Baptist Church in Pearson.

In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by a son, Gary Sirmans; three siblings, Dale Sirmans, Judy Camp and Corene Brant.

Mr. Sirmans is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Dale Corene Morgan Sirmans of Pearson; a son, David Sirmans wife Debbie of Hortense, GA; three grandchildren, Christopher Sirmans wife Joy of Hickox, GA, Satilla Tillery husband Chris of Sylvester, GA, Kaylee Sirmans; three great-grandchildren, Jerrin Sirmans, Cora Tillery, Gage Copeland; two sisters, Dawn Wright husband Wendell of Pearson, Marie Giddens of Valdosta, GA; three brothers, C.F. Sirmans wife Elaine of Tallahassee, FL, Stacy Sirmans wife Elaine of Tallahassee, FL, Stevie Sirmans of Pearson; two special nieces, Debra Carpenter husband Robert of Jacksonville, FL, Brenda Dale Deen husband Rodney of Douglas; a special nephew, Johnny Morgan of Douglas; a special great niece and nephew, Devin Deen, Ashlyn Deen; numerous other nieces, nephews and other relatives.

A memorial service was held Wednesday (October 24, 2018) at 2:00pm at Antioch Missionary Baptist Church in Pearson.

Miles-Odum Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
