Geraldine M. Fenstermacher, 83, of Schuylkill Haven, passed away Thursday at The Gardens at York Terrace, Pottsville.

Born on the Allegheny Reservation, Steamburg, N.Y., Oct. 24, 1934, she was a daughter of the late Walter and Dorothy Blacksnake Jimerson.

She was the widow of Melvin W. Fenstermacher, who preceded her in death in July 2009.

Geraldine was last employed for Alpha Mills until retiring in 1996 with 25 years of service.

She was a member of Seneca Nation of Indians, Blue Heron Clan, and Orwigsburg OES Chapter 424.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Martin W. Fenstermacher; brother, Lester Jimerson; sister, Tessie Snow, and three infant sisters.

Geraldine is survived by two daughters, Dorothy A. Reedy, Schuylkill Haven, and Susan J. Hummel, Schuylkill Haven; a son, Walter C. Fenstermacher (wife, Sherry Edwards), Orwigsburg; a sister, Patricia Schaeffer, Schuylkill Haven; grandchildren, Marcie Blatt (husband, Justin Blatt), Jaclyn Fenstermacher (fiance, Bill Yazujian), Zoe Fenstermacher, Christopher and Nathan Reedy, Megan Kromer (husband, Travis Kromer), Mallory McDonald (fiance, John Blank), Rodney McDonald and Kourtney Surfield (husband, Bill Surfield); great-grandchildren, Bo Eckert, Tony, MacKenzie, Madison and Makaya Kromer, Emily Rabbits and Colton McDonald; granddogs, Chloe and Ellie Mae.

A Celebration of Life funeral service will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Geschwindt-Stabingas Funeral Home Inc. A viewing will be held from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. Interment will immediately follow the service in Schuylkill Memorial Park, Schuylkill Haven.
