  Dr. Richard Palmer Middleton died March 8, 1995 at his home in Salt Lake City at age 93.
  He was born August 10, 1901 in Cedar City, Utah, the son of Dr. George W. and Margaret Palmer Middleton. Married Lucy Jane Rose on September 9, 1929. He served an LDS mission in Germany from 1921 to 1923. He was a graduate of the University of Utah and earned his M.D. degree from Harvard Medical School in 1927. Post-graduate surgical and urologic training was obtained in Philadelphia, Worcester, Mass., and Boston. He began the practice of urology in Salt Lake City in 1931 and worked vigorously until his retirement 41 years later in 1972. He was the first Chairman of the Urology Division at the University of Utah School of Medicine; was a founding member of the Salt Lake Surgical Society; served as president of the Salt Lake County Medical Society; and was president of the Medical Staff of the LDS Hospital.
  He is survived by his wife, Lucy; his son, Richard G. (Jayne) and his daughter, Mary Dahl (Douglas); seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; brother, Anthony W. Middleton. Preceded in death by his daughter, Anne Middleton Stearn.
  Graveside services will be held at the Salt Lake City Cemetery, 4th Avenue & N Street, on Monday, March 13, at 11 a.m. Friends may call Sunday evening, 6-8 p.m., at the Larkin Mortuary, 260 East South Temple.
