RENSSELAER Edith T. Buono of Franciscan Heights Senior Community in Rensselaer passed away on January 11, 2014. She was 91. Born on August 2, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Alexander and Cornelia DeJulio. She is survived by her beloved husband of 69 years, Joseph V. Buono; her children, Connie (Philip) Bonacquisti, John (Therese) Buono, and Alexander (Denise) Buono; her grandchildren, Christopher (Sara) Bonacquisti, Eric Bonacquisti, Gregory Bonacquisti, Marc (Kristina) Mantha, Bernard (Ann) Mantha, Michelle (William) Reed, Amy (Paul) Wiese, Matthew (Katherine) Buono, and Mark Buono; her great- grandchildren, Amelia Bonacquisti, Owen McClain, Sara Mantha, Bayly Reid, Ethan Reid, Caden Wiese, Milo Wiese, and Riley Wiese. She is also survived by her sister, Henrietta Papa, and sister-in-law, Luella Buono, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers, Anthony DeJulio and Joseph DeJulio. Edith was a communicant of the Parish of St. John the Evangelist and St. Joseph in Rensselaer. She was committed to her love of God and devotion to Mary, and was dedicated to her morning prayers and daily rosaries. Edith will be remembered for her wonderful homemade spaghetti and meatball dinners, her crocheted afghans and hats, her love of playing bingo, doing puzzles, and traveling to casinos with her late cousin, Jean Mulligan, and her friends from Franciscan Heights. She loved her community and they responded by caring for her in many ways. She was also an avid fan of the NY Yankees, never missing a game. She adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
