Lela Rosetta "Rose" Fields
Rose Fields, age 81, passed away Sunday, September 30, 2018. She is survived by her loving husband of 64 years, James H. Fields; children: Vicki (Robert) Phelps of Otis, and John (Pam) Fields of Valparaiso; grandchildren: Douglas Phelps of MO, Andrea (Nick) Merkel of Chesterton, Ashley (Daniel) Nguyen of Chesterton, and Jamison Fields of Westville; 9 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Rose was born April 26, 1937, in Galatia, IL to Finley and Sarah Duffee. She was preceded in death by 13 siblings and her loving son, James Douglas "Dougie" Fields. Rose spent many years babysitting and co-owned County Line Video in the 90s. Rose loved reading, sewing and spending time with her grandchildren. She was an amazing wife, mother and grandmother, and she will be greatly missed.
