JOSEPH MALETTA

Joseph J. Maletta, 81, of Clarkdale died Wednesday at the Monroe County Hospital in Albia.

He was born Oct. 29, 1906 at Clarkdale to John S. and Mary Antoinette Guzzi Maletta. He married Mary Virginia Caraccio at Centerville on Oct. 23, 1926, and she preceded him in death on April 21, 1979.

He was a member of the St. Francis Catholic Church in Mystic. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus.

Survivors are one daughter, Antoinette Kuzela of Des Moines and son, Richard of Longwood, Fla.; two grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; brothers Mike and John of Mystic and Lewis of Pontoosuck, Ill.; and sisters Elsie Pontious of Clarkdale, Lorraine Ramos of Centerville and Etta Jean Laurson of Mystic.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Mary; two brothers, Robert and Tony; and one sister, Mary Ranes.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday morning at the St Francis Catholic Church in Mystic with Father Al Ebach officiating. Burial will be in the Oakland Cemetery in Centerville. Rosary services will be held at 8 p.m. Friday evening at the Johnson-Lange Funeral Home. A memorial has been established to St. Francis Catholic Church and may be left at the funeral home.
