William D. Colburn, 64, of School Street, South Coventry, died Sunday, home after a long illness. He was born in Pomfret, Ct., Dec. 8. 1892, son of Louis and Bertha (Lawton) Colburn. He retired February, 1955, after 35 years' employment with the Connecticut Light and Power Co. at its Willimantic offices. He was a member of the First Congregational Church. He leaves his wife, Mrs. Adella (Baker) Colburn; three sons. Herbert W. Colburn of Tallade- gee, Ala., Everett J. Colburn of Chaplin, Ct. and Roland J. Colburn of New Britain Ct. three daughters Mrs. Arthur Smith of Windham, Mrs. Bernard J. Kristoff of Coventry and Mrs. Ernest Chartier of Willimantic; seven brothers, Robert Colburn and Harvey Colburn of Phoenixville, Earl Colburn of Bridgeport, Edwin Colburn of Webster. Mass., Fred Colburn of Pomfret and Allen Colburn and Kenneth Colburn Chepachet, R.I.; and 14 grandchildren. Burial will be the new Willimantic Cemetery.
