James I. Blake, 75, 1609 Indiana Street, died Monday at Muscatine General Hospital. Graveside services will be held Friday at Greenwood Cemetery. The Rev. James Vogt will officiate. Pallbearers are James Vogt, Jerry Jerrel, Edward "Bud" Lord, Johnny Doak and Bruce Plett. Honorary pallbearer is Leonard Vogt. --- Visitation is Thursday at the Ralph J. Wittich Funeral Home. --- Mr. Blake was born June 5, 1912 in Louisa County the son of Charles and Phoebe Denham Blake. His marriage to Florence Burzell took place October 7,1932 in Aledo. He was employed at Roach and Musser until it closed and then Lumber Mart. --- Survivors include, his wife, four daughters, Mrs. John (Judy) Doak, Muscatine, Mrs. Alvin (Barbara) Plett, Wilton, Mrs. Robert (Phyllis) Jerrel, Des Moines, and Rosemary Bowstead, Muscatine, 14 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, one brother Andrew Blake, Summit Washington. He was preceded in death by a daughter, a grandchild and two sisters.
