The funeral service will be 10:30 AM Tuesday, September 18, 2018, at the Fulton Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home with Rev. Edie Lenz, pastor of First Reformed Church in Fulton, officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 PM Monday, September 17, 2018, at the funeral home. Interment will be at Fulton Township Cemetery in Fulton.

Betty was born October 20, 1933, in Fenton, IL, to Peter and Anna (Postma) Dykstra.
She was educated in the Fenton grade schools and was a graduate of Fulton High School. Betty married Gerald J. Boelkens on June 12, 1951, in Fulton. He died February 15, 2013. Betty was a homemaker. She was a former member of Trinity Reformed Church where she was a Sunday School teacher, sang in the choir and participated in the Hannah Mission Circle. She was currently a member of First Reformed Church in Fulton. Betty enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include five daughters, Beth (Larry) St. Ores, Sue Krueger, Pam (Arnie) Vogel, Norma (Keith) King and Lisa (Rod) Whitmore; one son, Brent Boelkens; sixteen grandchildren, Bill (Rebecca) St. Ores, Brenda (Joe) Delmar, Kelly (Jesse) Jacobs, Kari (Chris) Green, Kurt (Tara) St. Ores, Angie (Chris) Degueldre, Tony (Rodica) Krueger, Adrienne (Josh) Zachritz, Paul Vogel, Marla (Jeremy) Wiersema, Andy (Donna) Vogel, Ben (Elise) Vogel, Mark (Christine) Shepard, Alex (Kim) Shepard, Jeff Whitmore and Randy (Astrid) Whitmore; twenty-four great-grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. Marianna Smith.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; three sisters, Rose Zuidema, Sadie Deelsnyder and Jeanette Vanderlaan and two brothers, Sidney and Frank Dykstra.
